Saturday - July, August, September 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., otherwise Saturdays by appointment

The museums are closed Sundays, all major holidays and when local public schools are closed due to the weather.

Guided and self-guided tours are available during regular hours. We will happily accommodate large groups by appointment. $5.00 research room use fee for non-members; photocopying additional.

Directions

From the north
Traveling south on Route 14A, you enter Penn Yan on Liberty Street at the bottom of Benton Hill. From the bottom of the hill, drive straight along Liberty, past Court Street, and take a left onto Chapel Street. The Oliver House Museum is on the corner of Chapel and Main. The L. Caroline Underwood Museum is at 107 Chapel Street. There is shared parking.

From the south
Traveling along Route 54, on Keuka Lake's east side, you enter Penn Yan and pass the McDonalds restaurant. Drive straight through the first traffic light and turn left when the street comes out to a "T" onto Main Street. Drive along Main, through Penn Yan's historic downtown, until you get to an intersection with churches on three corners. The Oliver House Museum will be on your left, on the corner of Main and Chapel Street. The L. Caroline Underwood Museum is at 107 Chapel Street. There is shared parking.

From Keuka Lake By Steamboat
Cruise north along the scenic shoreline of Keuka Lake's east branch. Pass Keuka College on your left and vineyards growing on the hillsides all along the lake. Wave to the occasional vacationer enjoying a sail or sunbathing on a dock. When you reach the north end of the lake, pilot your steamboat into the channel between Red Jacket park and the Indian Pines pavilion. Cruising slowly so as not to disturb the flora and fauna living on the shoreline, pass Penn Yan Boats company and dock your steamboat by the tennis courts on the left side of the channel. Leaving the tennis courts, turn left at the top of the hill onto Keuka Sreet and walk two blocks to Chapel Street. Turn right onto Chapel and walk two blocks. The Oliver House Museum is on the corner of Chapel and Main. The L. Caroline Underwood Museum is at 107 Chapel Street. There is shared parking.
